SKY SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Enhancing life skill acquisition and support for young people in school and community!
3-Program Approaches
1School-Based Life Skills Training Camps
We organize interactive training camps in schools to equip children with practical life skills that foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and socioeconomic engagement. These hands-on sessions empower students—especially in rural areas—with the tools to build self-confidence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Training activities include:
- Creating decorative items from non-biodegradable waste
- Making eco-friendly paper bags
- Basic soap-making
- Baking simple cakes
Through these camps, we inspire innovation, promote environmental responsibility, and nurture a spirit of self-reliance among young learners.
2Resuable Sanitary Pads
We train school community members—especially women and youth—with the skills to make safe, reusable sanitary pads. This initiative not only promotes menstrual hygiene but also empowers communities with sustainable, income-generating skills.
As part of this effort, we are establishing a Pad-Making Center to produce high-quality reusable pads for girls in school, helping reduce absenteeism, boost confidence, and ensure every girl has the dignity and support to stay in class.
This program strengthens health, education, and economic inclusion—one pad at a time.
3Youth Skilling Program
We are establishing a dedicated Training Center to empower young people who have not had the opportunity to attain formal educational certification. This center provides a second chance—equipping them with practical, marketable skills that foster self-reliance and meaningful socioeconomic engagement.
Training programs include:
- Smart Climate-Adaptive Agricultural Practices
- Tailoring and Garment Making
- Basic Building & Carpentry Skills
- Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Business Management
This initiative aims to unlock the potential of underserved youth, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute actively to their communities.
SKY GIRL SANITARY PADS PROGRAM
"Improving menstrual hygiene of young girls at school and community through training them on how to make reusable sanitary pads"
Sanitary pads making center
We institute training centers for training and making of reusable sanitary pads in selected schools in a community.
Such Centers are managed by our Coordinators who coordinates activities of training, form school clubs and members as learning participants, invite parents, teachers and other practitioners of Menstrual hygiene management into the trainings.
- These centers also make menstrual sanitary pads that support the Period emergency support program for girls who begins to menstruate at school without having access to personal sanitary wears.
Menstrual Hygiene Management Sensitization
This aims to;
- Train adolescent girls in schools on good menstrual hygiene management practices.
- Sensitize the school and community members against period-stigma and frustration on school girls.
Reusable Sanitary Pads
Made with a 3-typed textile and waterproof polythene, the pad's design entails the "Shield" made of soft cotton textile to absorb flow, the "Liner" made of fomous PV material with durable abiity to hold firm while padding and the "pocket" to shold the shield onto the whole pad.
Time value
- With the use of sewing machine, one can make one pad in 10 minutes
